Recently, Way to Go Builders Inc. transformed a Los Angeles residential property by replacing worn-out concrete with a cohesive, beautiful paving system. With the homeowner’s clear vision, our team turned cracked, aging hardscapes into a durable, stylish outdoor space.
The client wanted a unified paving design for their new driveway, front walkway, and rear patio. They needed surfaces strong enough for cars and people, and wanted to improve their home’s curb appeal. Since poor sub-base compaction and a bad slope under the old concrete caused water to pool near the entryway, we planned to solve the drainage issues before starting the new installation.
We did everything in-house, arranging grading plans, drainage plans, and materials permits via Los Angeles County so the project would be entirely stress-free for our client.
For the installation, we chose custom materials tailored to each area of the property. The driveway features heavy-duty concrete pavers laid in a tidy running-bond pattern for a clean, sturdy look. For the front walkway, we used tumbled travertine-look pavers arranged in a classic herringbone pattern to add texture and warmth. For the rear patio, we used large-format porcelain pavers finished with a stylish, contrasting stone border to define the space.
Our team cleared the site, laid a solid gravel base, and installed the pavers manually. Finally, they secured the stone pieces with special sand, put edging around the pavers, and sloped the land to ensure that rainwater drains away from the house.
The clients got a paver design that solved the home’s water drainage problems.
